Dr. A. Lakshmanan is the Head of the Department of Nano Science and Technology TNAU Coimbatore and involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching since 1995. Underwent post-doctoral training on Nano composites in waste water treatment at Monterry Tech Mexico and on SWAT modelling at Texas A&M University USA. He has expertise on environmental nanotechnology and currently working on nano systems in pollution management and disease control. He has more than 50 research publications and authored four books guided 12 Postgraduate and 3 Ph.D students and mentoring two PDFs. Obtained 18 externally funded projects with a total out lay of around ` 13 crores to address issues pertaining to Bio & Nano remediation climate change adaptation and biosafety of engineered nano devices. Involved in the preparation of policy manuals on climate change adaptation in agriculture and watersectors for the states of Tamil Nadu and Telangana in coordination with respective governments. Dr. K.S. Subramanian is presently the Director of Research Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Coimbatore and NABARD Chair Professor at the Department of Nano Science & Technology. He is with the University for more than 32 years involved in teaching research and extension activities of the University. He did his Ph.D at the University of Ottawa Canada utilizing one of the most prestigious Canadian Common Wealth Scholarships (1993-1998). He has got expertise in the fields of nanotechnology in agriculture and soil biology generated more than ` 25 crores of research grants to build infrastructure and human resource. He is the Founder Head of the Department of Nano Science & Technology and evolved the research and educational frame works in the sphere of fascinating field of Nano science and nanotechnology suiting to agricultural sciences. He is one of the core committee members constituted by DBT GoI New Delhi for the regulation of nano-agri products in the country. Dr. Subramanian published over 200 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and six books on Nanotechnology in Agriculture participated as a lead speaker in various national and international conferences visited several countries. He received more than 12 awards and distinctions to his credentials.
