Dr R.K.Roy is a renowned horticulturist in India. He has worked in reputed research institute like CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) Lucknow and Agricultural and Horticultural Society of India Kolkata in various capacities. Dr. Roy was former Sr. Principal Scientist and Head Botanic Garden Floriculture and Landscaping Division CSIR-NBRI (1989-2016). Prior to that Dr. Roy was Assistant Secretary and Horticulturist at The AgriculturalHorticultural Society of India Alipore Kolkata (1985-89). His main field of specialization is Ornamental Horticulture Floriculture and Landscaping. During the tenure of his service spanning over 35 years Dr. Roy has been deeply involved in the R&D work on Floriculture and Landscaping. Dr Roy is member of various professional and academic societies of India and abroad. He is Sr. Vice President of Bougainvillea Society of Indiaand Former Vice-Chairman Commission Landscape and Urban Horticulture International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS) Belgium. He was also awarded with international fellowship/scholarship viz. 'RHS's Financial Award' by Royal Horticultural Society London United Kingdom in 1998; 'Commonwealth Science Council Fellowship' Commonwealth Science Council United Kingdom in 2003; Coke Trust Award by Royal Horticultural Society United Kingdom. Moreover Dr. Roy had international exposure by way of visiting many countries and leading botanical/ornamental gardens in United Kingdom France Poland Switzerland Germany The Netherland etc. He has written many books viz. Ornamental Annuals House Plants Kitchen Garden Home Garden Gladiolus 'Gerbera' Marigold 'Fundamentals of Garden Designing' and 'Ornamental Trees of India' etc. Dr J.S. Khuraijam is a plant conservationist and cycad biologist at CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute Lucknow. He has 12 years of research experience and his major contribution has been in the field of cycad taxonomy and conservation of threatened species. Besides curation of living collections at CSIR-NBRI Botanic Garden he has been actively involved in the taxonomic studies of conifers orchids and conservation of wild ornamental plants. He has published more than 60 papers on plant taxonomy and biodiversity conservation and has edited two books. Dr Khuraijam did his Ph.D in Botany (2014) from GGS Indraprastha University New Delhi. He is an active member of IUCN SSC Cycad Specialist Group.
