Dr. U. D. Chavan obtained his B. Sc. and M. Sc. (Agri. in Biochemistry) degrees from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth Rahuri in 1985 and 1987 respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Food Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland St. John's Canada in 1999. He has done International training on Global Nutrition 2002 at Uppsala University Uppsala Sweden in 2002. He also attended follow-up International workshop on Global Nutrition 2002 at Hanoi Vietnam in 2002. Dr. Chavan visited Denmark Finland Ireland France Switzerland Poland Spain Vietnam Thailand England and U.S.A. under Global Nutrition 2002 Programme sponsored by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). During this programme he worked on human nutritional diet and disorders as well as on genetically modified organisms (GMO). Now he is working as a Head Department of Food Science and Technologyand Foreign Student's Advisor at Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth Rahuri Dist Ahmednagar Maharashtra India. Dr. K. G. Shinde working as Associate Professor Department of Horticulture MPKV Rahuri. He has completed B.Sc.(Agri) from College of Agriculture Kolhapur (1990); M.Sc.(Agri) in Horticulture from Post Graduate Institute MPKV Rahuri (1993) and Ph.D. in Horticulture from PGI MPKV Rahuri (2005). He has service experience of 27 years in MPKV in teaching research extension education. He has guided five Ph.D. and eleven M.Sc.students in Horticulture. Also SAC member for 45 PG students in major and miner disciplines. He is associated in the development of 8 varieties/hybrids in vegetable crops. Also associated in formulation of 19 recommendations/technologies in horticulture crops. He has published 95 scientific articles in nas rated journals 16 book chapters 16 full papers 10 manuals and technical books 09 conference full papers 207 popular articles 09 book chapters in Marathi and delivered 44 radio and television talks. He has attended 36 group meetings/ workshops/seminars/symposiums on various aspects of Horticulture in various states in India. *He has attended 11 training programmes of long and short duration on various aspects of Horticulture in various states in India. He is a membership of scientific societies in Horticulture. He is actively associated in research in vegetable crops as crop improvement crop production technology crop protection and post-harvest technology.
